The passé récent describes an event that just happened (literally just happened at the moment of our speaking). The passé récent is usually used ONLY in speaking conversation and rarely is used in written conversation. It is formed by the following steps - Click on the picture below!
In the video, you can see the conjugation for the verb "VENIR" and it's associated verbs such as
DEVENIR = to become (in the Passé composé - DRMRSVANDERTRAMPP)
REVENIR = to come back (in the Passé composé - DRMRSVANDERTRAMPP)
TENIR = to hold (in the Passé composé -use AVOIR)
MAINTENIR = to maintain (in the Passé composé -use AVOIR)
RETENIR = to keep/retain/remember (in the Passé composé -use AVOIR)
These verbs follow the same conjugation pattern as "VENIR" in the present tense.
